Joining the PTA or supporting the various events is a great way of meeting people, having fun and at the same time helping the school and ultimately your own kids. Our aims in the PTA are to promote partnership between the College and parents, to engage in activities that promote a team and community atmosphere as well as raising funds for the School.
As we can all appreciate, every school is short of funding for many things and now more than ever the money raised by the PTA is vital to help the school ensure that our children receive the best possible facilities and opportunities.
2014 /15 was a very successful year for the PTA. We organized a variety of events which parents enjoyed and funds were raised for the School. Our largest fundraising event each year is the Methody PTA Ball which was held this year in the Culloden Hotel.
Other events ranged from the annual ladies lunch, a quiz night, a celebration of local talent in a literary event at the No Alibis Bookshop, to the Welcome Night for new parents as well as supporting the School Open Days.
The PTA has used the proceeds from the various events to fund small priority projects across the School. In the past, these projects have ranged from the purchase of equipment for a number of different departments, to the furnishing of the break-out room for pupils with SEN.
The focus however has now changed with the news that the McArthur Hall is going to be refurbished. The aim is to make it suitable to be used as a learning and teaching centre. The upgraded facilities will include a library complex and the PTA would like to raise a substantial sum to go towards the fitting out of this complex.
As ever, we really appreciate the support of you, the parents, at all the events we run during the year.
